Proposition 28: Arts and Music in Schools Funding Annual Report

Proposition 28 provided approximately $24,941.00 this school year to increase Arts Education in the Big Pine Unified School District. Proposition 28 mandates that a minimum of 80% of each school’s allocation must be spent on staffing, including certificated or classified district employees.

During this planning year, BUPSD identified and/or hired two teachers in the areas of Visual and Performing Arts and Digital Design to serve our students in grades TK-12.

Unexpended funds from 2023-2024 will be carried forward for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The following plans will be executed during the 2024-2025 school year:

  • Itinerant VAPA teacher will provide art, drama, and music instruction to all students district-wide TK-12 grade.
  • Digital Design teacher will provide instruction to students as a VAPA elective for 6th-12th grade students.
